Basic Training

Provided here is a basic training guide for maxxing and rolling horses. Used from Mythara's Website with permission.

Stat Maxxing
First cure and vaccinate the horse. Change the diet to 20/15/50/15. (Oat Hay-20, Grain-15, Alfalfa-50, Hot Oats-15) (a diet of 35/15/35/15 can be used as well) Select Halter on the diciplines list. Train the horse in obstacle six times per turn until intelligence is maxed. (To get the obstacle training option when the horse is under one year old, go to “Stable” instead of the horse’s page).

TIP: make sure all stats "keep up" with each other (meaning train the horse in everything involved with higher training, like dressage for intelligence, driving for strength, trail ride for endurance, and speed lap for speed, starting out with the lowest stats and working your way up, but also include polo for surefoot and gaited for movement when the time comes [gaited can only be used in curtain diciplines]), that way you don't have to start over on stat maxing a different stat; this tip is optional, the traditional way is just as effective.

Once intelligence reaches 200, look at the horse’s endurance. If it’s under 130, I prefer to use padded shoes for the +5 endurance bonus, if endurance is over 130 use traction shoes (you can also use traction shoes for under 130). Now start training Gaited every turn. (If endurance is under 130, you will have to use meth if you want to fit in six trainings. If you make a mistake and exhaust your horse, take a turn and cure the horse before resuming training.) Movement will cap at 215, and surefoot at 225 if the horse is shod, or if not movement will cap at 204-205, and surefoot at 205. When both are capped move on to the next step. (Optional) Change the horse’s discipline to whatever you would like it to be. Use Track: Endurance to max speed/endurance and finish maxing strength. If the horse’s endurance is below 165 you will not be able to fit in six trainings so, like Gaited, use meth deeds if you want, and cure deeds if you exhaust the horse. At 180 endurance, change the diet to 10/10/10/10. When endurance reaches 200, stop. The horse should be between 5.5 and 6.5 years old.

Rolling
Rolling is when you take one stat title, and increase it to the next title, eg, from Supurb to Fantastic. Anyone can roll a horse, sponsors and novices. The horse needs to be stat maxed and hopefully all the stats are between 200 and 201, to make it easier. When you roll you want to keep the actual number the same, but drop the percentage. This is because the percentage controls when the stat rolls. Every ten turns (0.5 years) the lowest stats percentage drops approx. 1%. Every twenty turns (1 year) the highest stats percentage drops approx. 1%. The actual number is the one in brackets. First choose which stats you want to roll. You can choose two stats at once. The stats with the highest actual number and lowest actual number will roll. The lowest stat rolls faster than the highest number. I normally make the stat with the highest percentage the lowest actual number.

To get your stats in the right order to roll, use polo to raise speed, obstacle to raise intelligence, driving for strength and three or more teamwork for endurance.

To decrease strength use an endurance diet, 15/15/15/15 and it'll drop 0.05 per turn and train teamwork once (or six polo or obstacle, or teamwork three times or more) per turn. Once it's where you want it, put the diet back to 20/15/50/15.

To decrease endurance use an 60/15/60/15 diet and it'll drop 0.05 per turn and train teamwork once (or six polo/obstacle/driving) per turn. Once it's where you want it, put the diet back to 20/15/50/15.

Once your stats are in the right order, use teamwork once per turn. Training teamwork twice doesn't matter, but if you train it three times endurace will raise 0.25 each time. Use a 60/15/60/15 diet if this happens and keep training teamwork once per turn, and endurance will decrease 0.05 per turn. Once it's back where you want it, put the diet back to 20/15/50/15 or 35/15/35/15.
